Get it today, you will love it. And with the custom movie editor you can movies as long or as short as you want. There is aot of options when doing that though. But after you play for awhile it gets easy as.well making a movie in this. Very fun game, right off. Not only can you name your own movies, but you can control how the movie plays out, to an extent. I wont lie, it does get kind of overwhelming after a bit, with all the sets and actors and stuff.
Really cheap. I didn't have to buy a more powerful PC (which I couldn't afford now, even if I wanted one). The Movies keeps me busy for hours. I get so involved that I feel like a big time movie producer. At the risk of sounding like a cliche, the fun never ends.
it's beautiful and it shows a little bit about wht goes on in the movie business. after playing in sandbox mode, u'll get the hang of playing story mode. this game is amazing hands down. if ur new to the Movies game then i sugjest u go to the tips option at the main menu and then play sandbox.
In the words of Rupert and Ebert: 2 thumbs down. This game had a GREAT concept and as usual Lionhead turned it into much less than it could have been. Nevertheless your actor's actions are limited which comes off feeling very restricted.If you create custom actors they will have no skills, and are pretty much worthless except for sandbox mode. and that's exactly what it is.A Sims knock off with a movie studio. Awards are impossible to win (and VITAL if you want to progress), because your crew is impossible to please and your actors will always demand more money than your budget will allow.The movie making part is even worse.
That's it. The only way to unlock more cool sets and costumes is to keep playing and researching. You get stuck with several set settings of movements your character can do, hence LINAR. The game is VERY linar, the production part of the movies gets old fast and very irritating. You can only do certain things on certain sets, their actions are campy though funny at first.
It would have been better is they cut out all the production studio crap, and just focused on being able to make movies with a Sims knockoff.
But it'svery tiring for me having to start the game in the setting of the 1920s. I first downloaded a demo version and I fell in love with the game. The goal of the game is to raise a spectacular studio and make movies so yes this is a great game for those who are into sim/tycoon kinda games. Great game. I love this. But overrall it's part of the game.
